El Bioblitz metropolità torna a Castelldefels

This weekend, specifically on **May 23 and 24**, the ninth edition of the **Metropolitan Bioblitz** arrives at **Castelldefels**. This initiative is organized by the **Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB)** with the collaboration of local councils, including Castelldefels, and aims to involve residents in counting flora and fauna present in dune ecosystems.

What is the Bioblitz? It is a citizen science initiative that seeks to conduct a participatory census of species in metropolitan parks and beaches, helping to create a snapshot of local biodiversity. Participants are encouraged to observe and appreciate the importance of these environments for healthy ecosystem functioning. This year’s Bioblitz coincides with the **Biodiversity Fortnight** from May 22 to June 5 and the **World Environment Day** on June 5.
